Outdoor Club Mission Statement:
“To foster an active lifestyle for Lincoln youth through outdoor recreation opportunities by providing kids with various outdoor activities and the equipment needed for all to participate.”
The Outdoor Club, which is active under the schools 501 (c)(3) non-profit status, was originally organized some 20 years ago by Lincoln high school teachers with the intention of keeping kids who were not involved in school sports out of trouble on the weekends.
After many years of dormancy, the Outdoor Club was revitalized by parents, school staff, and generous donations from community members with a new goal of getting kids, in what has become a digital world, outdoors ice-skating, cross country skiing, or hiking and having fun!
Today, with the help of generous donations made by Lincoln community members, the Outdoor Club has upwards of 75 cross country skies, boots, and poles for kids from 5 to 18 years old. Our club also has an ice-skating rink and lots of hockey skates for kids and adults.
