Thank you all for my surprise on Friday with my ½ bday celebration.  It was fun to share that with your children.  I have such a sweet class and wonderful parents.  You gifts and cards were so appreciated. 

This week we will be focusing on Dr. Seuss and the books he wrote.  His bday is Monday March 2nd.  If you have any Dr. Seuss books make sure to read them.  Along with that we will be doing a special “dress up” days for just Kindergarten.  Students will wear their uniforms with a little added fun.  See the list below to know what to wear each day.  

Up-Coming Activities:

Jog A Thon Fundraiser 

February 27th  we will host our Annual Jog A Thon.  Parents are welcome to come cheer us on as we jog.  Kindergarten will be jogging around 8:15 the morning of the 27th.  Plan to join us.  It is always a fun month and we are so grateful to all the parents who help support us and LFCS in this project.  Many of you have sent out 10 emails to friends and families.  The big slide day was postponed to this Tuesday due to rain so there is still time to send out emails.  Those who have sent 10 or more will have an opportunity to go play on the big bouncy slide during recess.  Go to the link below to sign up and send out your 10 emails.  You just need to send out 10 emails to friends and family who would be willing to donate to our school.

Homework: We are back on track with homework and reading.  Make sure to read each day and practice sight words.  Reading and knowing sight words are a key indicator of reading success. 

Dates to Remember 

Jog A Thon – Friday, February 27th,  More details to come but plan to come join us first thing in the morning.  Fund raiser begins February 9th

Park Field Trip – Monday March 16th we will be headed for a great day outdoors at Shadow Hills Park in Santee.  Parents are welcome to join us.  Permission slips will go home next week and you can indicate if you would like to chaperone.   Times are 9:00-1:00.  It’s going to be a fun day.

Teacher/Parent/Student Conferences – March 17th-19th we will have our 2nd trimester conferences.
