Parents,

This is going to be a full week.  Park on Monday, Tuesday we find out if we trapped the Leprechaun.  Then a full week of meeting with parents and students to talk about the amazing things we are learning.  Ending with a long 4 day weekend. 

I wanted to let you know I will be out this Thursday.  Mrs. Rounds will be my sub.  She has subbed for my class before and is a good friend of mine.  I will be going to Hawaii (yes with all the rain) with my sisters to celebrate my mom.  My mom gave us this trip to Hawaii.  It will be a great time with my sisters celebrating my mom.  I am blessed to have such wonderful sisters and a mom who loved us dearly. 

We have a few fun things coming up this month.  Below are details and if you have any questions let me know.

Up-Coming Activities:

Park Field Trip –We are headed for a great day outdoors at Shadow Hills Park in Santee.  Times are 9:00-1:00.  It’s going to be a fun day.  Students will need to wear their red logo shirt and bring a disposable sack lunch and water bottle.  Students will not need backpacks.  Parents if you are going please sign in at the office and meet us by 8:40 at the playground for a chaperone meeting. 

Parent/Teacher/Student Conferences:  This week is our 2nd Trimester conferences.    I would be happy to meet with you if you would like a conference.  Signup link for conferences is below if you would like a conference.  If a conference is not scheduled I will send home your child’s report card with a instructions on how to have a “home” conference with your child.  This is always a special time and I love hearing how they went.

Multicultural Fair: It is time for our semi-annual Multicultural Festival.  I am attaching two fliers on how you can participate and get involved.  This is a great afternoon of celebrating the many cultures that LFCS has. 

Internet Safety Seminar for Parents:  Thursday March 26th at 6:00 at the Jr Academy we will host an Internet Safety Seminar.  1012 E. Bradley Avenue, El Cajon CA 62021. I went to this a few years back and would encourage you to attend.  It is very informative and will give you so much information on what your children are seeing online and how to help your child safely navigate the internet.  Even if you don’t let your child access online it will be very informative on what the current trends are and what to look for in the future.  It will be worth your time I promise.  Because of the sensitive nature of the seminar students are not allowed to attend. 

Homework: Reading and knowing sight words are a key indicator of reading success.   Folders will go home Tuesday and due to the 4 day weekend I will collect folders on Friday March 27th.

LS class For those students that go to the LS class after lunch with Mrs. Console class will resume Monday March 30th
