Parents,
We had a very fun week studying the author Laura Numeroff. The students really enjoyed reading all her books and eating the fun treats that went with each book. Thank you for all your sweet messages and support during a very difficult week for me. My family is doing well and we are grateful for each other.
This week we will be learning about the 4 Seasons of the year and how apples grow. We will be tasting apples, making apple sauce and reading all about apples.
Weekly Announcements:
Library books: Students are checking out books each week at the library on Friday. Make sure to return them on Thursday in their bag so they can check out another Friday. They love going to the library and checking out a book. Enjoy reading it with them at home.
Apples: We will be tasting and making apple sauce this week. If you can donate some red, green, and yellow apples it would be appreciated. We don’t need many just a few for tasting and apple sauce.
Folders: In your child's folder you will find a reader that will focus on sight words we are learning in class. Take some time before you read the book with them to just look at the pictures and predict what is happening. Then go back and read the book. We call it "taking a picture walk" This really helps engage them in the book before they read and helps with understanding the words they will read. Here is a link to a video explaining a little more about how to work with your child at home. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1gL1SweNkoL-q8L6K7NKYO05YK5zetV_X/view?usp=drive_link
School Picture Day: School picture day is coming on Monday October 6th. Each student will have their picture taken and you will have the opportunity to purchase the pictures after they are taken. Students need to be in their uniform for the picture.

Question of the Week: Integrity is being honest. Talk about times when someone you know was honest and how that makes you feel.
September is Integrity and showing Trustworthiness and Honesty. In Kindergarten we like to say "I make super star choices". At home you can help us by focusing on showing Integrity at home as well as at school. Help them make and recognize "super start choices".
