About the Teacher

Hi everyone! My name is Tommy Mathis. This is my fifth year here at LCHS, and my fourth teaching this slate of classes. I can't wait for August 27th! I was born and raised in San Diego and love it to death. I got my bachelor's degree in English at the best school in the world: UCLA. Here are some pictures of Royce Hall and the Bruin! ALSO I had a daughter over the summer!!

I got my teaching credential at San Diego Christian College. I also worked at SeaWorld for a few years, and absolutely loved it! Here's a pic of me with Makani, a young Killer Whale at the park. I still work there during the summer, so you may see me sometimes!

I just got married in the summer of 2014 to my wife, Kelsey. Here are some pictures from that day! I'm with my wife in the first one and my Best Man, Jesse, in the second one.
