Physical Education: Grading Procedure
1. The following point values will be used for grading:
A – 90+ points
B – 80-89 points
C – 70-79 points
D – 60-69 points
F – 59 or below points
2. Students must be dressed appropriately in order to participate in PE class. Sneakers must be worn (no crocs, no boots, no sandals, no slides, no uggs, etc). Athletic bottoms are required: i.e. sweatpants, yoga pants, leggings or shorts (no jeans, no cargo shorts, no cargo pants). Athletic tops are required: i.e. t-shirts with sleeves, long sleeved t-shirts, and sweatshirts (no tank-tops or crop tops allowed).
3. Unexcused absences accrued by the student will result in a loss of points. Students will have an opportunity to make up these classes in an effort to earn points toward his/her final grade. Details will be provided by the individual PE teacher.
4. Students are allowed two excused absences per quarter. Excused absences beyond two will result in a loss of points and can be made up by the student in an effort to receive points toward their final grade. Details will be provided by the individual PE teacher.
5. During the second semester of a student’s senior year all missed classes must be made up.
Credits
Physical Education courses are worth 1 credit toward graduation requirement (6.0 credits total needed to graduate). Athletic Training Courses have a 1.0 credit option with some after school hours required.
