ARTICLE I - NAME
SECTION 1. The name of this corporation shall be Lenox Performing Arts Boosters.
ARTICLE II - PURPOSE
SECTION 1. The purpose of this organization shall be to:
A. To encourage the development, interest, and appreciation of the performing arts in the Lenox Community School District.
B. To lend all possible support, both moral and financial, to the performing arts program (band, vocal, speech, and drama).
ARTICLE III - OFFICERS
SECTION 1. The officers of this organization shall be president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, and chairman of the board.
ARTICLE IV - ADVISORY BODY
SECTION 1. The band, vocal, speech, and drama instructors shall serve this organization in an advisory capacity.
SECTION 2. In order to establish a cohesive performing arts booster organization it is expected that advisory members will communicate frequently with the governing body.
SECTION 3. Advisory members are expected to report at each meeting in person or per written correspondence.
ARTICLE V - GOVERNING BODY/MEMBERSHIP
SECTION 1. The governing body of this organization shall consist of all parents and/or legal guardians of student who participate in band, vocal, speech, and drama/
ARTICLE VI - DUTIES OF OFFICERS
SECTION 1. The president shall preside at all meetings. The president shall appoint all chairmen of committees and shall be ex-officio member of all committees. President only has voting rights when there is a tie. At the expiration of his/her term of office he/she shall become chairman of the board for one year.
SECTION 2. The vice president shall perform such duties as incidental to his/her office and other duties as directed by the president. The vice president shall assume all duties in the absence of the president. The vice president shall act as parliamentarian using Robert's Rules of Order. At the expiration of his/her term, he/she shall become president for (1) year.
SECTION 3. The secretary shall keep an accurate account of all proceedings of all meetings. He/She shall be custodian of all book of his/her office and at the expiration of his/her term of office shall deliver the successor said books of record. The secretary shall attend to all correspondence. He/She shall perform other duties as specified by the president for a period of (1) year.
SECTION 4. The treasurer shall be custodian of all books and account and collect all monies due. The treasurer shall act as cashier as fundraising projects and report the state of funds at each meeting. He/She shall keep an accurate account of all monies received and disbursed. He/She shall perform other duties and directed by the president for a period of (1) year.
SECTION 5. The chairman of the board shall perform such duties as assigned by the president. He/She will serve as consultant to the president.
ARTICLE VII - FINANCES
SECTION 1. All proposed expenses to be paid for out of the performing arts boosters fund are first subject to a votes of approval by the majority of members present, before such items can be paid for.
SECTION 2. All approved disbursements shall be signed by the treasurer and president.
SECTION 3. Any activities or capital expenses that the performing arts boosters will be asked to assist in financing will be brought to the membership for a vote of approval.
SECTION 4. The performing arts boosters will financially support our performing arts students as follows:
$20.00 Scholarship to Camps
$50.00 for each individual attending a marching honor band or a maximum of $1000.00
$2000.00 for uniforms will be set aside each year from the general operating fund.
SECTION 5. Money earned from calendars, carnival, soup supper, nuts, ice cream sales, marching madness, dinner theatre, and concession stands will go into the general operating fund.
SECTION 6. Proceeds from special projects will be voted upon by general membership.
ARTICLE VIII - STANDING COMMITTEES
SECTION 1. The Publicity Committee will consist of a minimum of three members assigned by the president. They will be responsible for publicizing activities as assigned by the president.
SECTION 2. The Calling of Committee will consist of a minimum of eight members. They will be responsible for communicating messages from the president to their assigned groups of parents.
ARTICLE IX - MEETINGS
SECTION 1. Meetings will be held the first Monday of the month during the school year in the Lenox High School at 6:00 p.m. Except for September the meeting will be held the 2nd Monday.
SECTION 2. Members of the governing body have the right and privilege to make and second motions, the right to vote, and the right to hold office.
ARTICLE X - PARLIAMENTARY AUTHORITY
SECTION 1. Robert's Rules of Order shall be the guide on all points not contained in these bylaws.
ARTICLE XI - AMENDMENTS
SECTION 1. Alterations of amendments to these by-laws must be made in writing and read at one of the regular meetings before any action can be taken thereon, and must have two-thirds majority of those present to adopt an amendment at the next meeting.
SECTION 2. These by-laws shall be in effect from and after their adoption or until new by-laws are amended.
SECTION 3. A copy of the by-laws shall be made available to the instructors in the performing arts department and to the president of the performing arts boosters each year.

TRIPS - For the good of the community we recommend major trips be taken on a two year alternating cycle between band and vocal.
