My name is Michaela Johnson and I'm so excited to call Running Brushy my home for the 6th year in a row!

I grew up in Boulder County, Colorado, and moved to the Austin area in 2017. I finished a bachelor's degree in World History and a bachelor's degree in World Religious Studies through Arizona State University, finishing both degrees while working hard (and often!) so that I could become a classroom teacher. I am certified to teach both English Language Arts and Social Studies. I started my career in education in Leander ISD in 2017; I was an assistant in Special Education for two years, this is my sixth year teaching ELA, and my third year advising Yearbook.

I currently live with my childhood cat Marbleous, and I have a big family! I have four brothers, and their ages range all the way from 8 to 30 years old. Lately I've been spending my time learning Korean and Spanish, cooking, and traveling around Texas.
