Class Policies and Behavior Expectations

Grading Policy

  • ELA Extensions grades will count for 50% and Math Extensions grades will count for 50% of the students total ELA/Math Extensions grade.

  • Students may turn in any assignment late, as long as it is before the end of the grading period. A maximum of 30 points may be deducted for excessively late (more than 2 weeks) assignments.

  • In order to change a missing (M) grade in the gradebook, students must first complete the assignment, then fill out the form in Google Classroom titled "I need my M changed."

  • Students are honing and practicing ELA skills and strategies all year, therefore most grades are based on effort and completion of all daily work assignments. Final exams, end of unit tests, etc. are not given in ELA Extensions.

Absences

If you are absent for any reason, it is your responsibility to check Google Classroom and talk to me to find out what you missed. Students are expected to make up any missing work and take action when they don't understand something they missed (attend tutorials, ask a classmate, or ask the teacher in person or by email).

· Stay in your own personal space

· Keep your desk clean and clear of all trash

Be Kind

Consequences:

When a student has difficulty following the rules, it will be documented. If a student receives 3 documentations, the parent will be contacted by phone or email. On the 4th documentation they will be assigned lunch detention, and a notice will be sent home. A parent or guardian is required to sign the notice and return it to school. For persistent or more severe behaviors, students will receive an office referral.
