Learning Ally:
Students can access Learning Ally with their LISD login through the Launchpad using this link:
Things to know:
Learning Ally is an amazing site that gives students with disabilities the opportunity to follow along with highlighted text while it is read to them by human voices (not a computer).
Having access to this helps fulfill the accommodation of access to audiobooks.
There are over 80,000 books to choose from. Most (but not all) of the books they are encouraged to read at school are available on this site.
Using this program is a wonderful way for students to read books that are more age/socially appropriate for them even if their reading level is lower. This allows them to participate in reading groups while building their decoding skills.
Students can access these books 24/7/365 on many devices (not only school devices)
It’s free for students with reading disabilities, provided by the state
This is a really easy program for students to use
