When I am not at school, my family and I love to get out and have fun! I have two sons that keep me busy. Colin is 26 and out in the workforce. Jameson is 21 is taking classes at ACC with an interest in transferring to major in Media Studies, specifically video production.

Jobs I've had (in order from age 14 to present) - softball center office clerk, yogurt shop, donut shop, bookstore (in the mall), college bookstore, bank teller, Disneyland pageant helper (entertainment), Disneyland outdoor vending (I roll a mean churro!), Disneyland finance analyst, stay at home mom (toughest job), accountant at a cookie factory, substitute teacher, school aid and teacher (second toughest job - totally worth it)
I love dark chocolate, Milk Duds, and black licorice (Good N Plenty are awesome!)
I was born on an Air Force Base in California
I lived on Guam for 1 1/2 years when I was a toddler
I like to quilt, crochet, rug hook, and create fun things, but I give most of what I make away as gifts
I shop mostly at Costco, Target and HEB (the one on Whitestone & Parmer)
I'm an introvert, and like to stay home
Most days I'd rather cook than go out to eat
I have characteristics of dyslexia, and many dyslexics in my family
I lived in Michigan from 2nd grade to 11th grade
I didn't always like reading, especially in middle school
When I take the Harry Potter test I am the houses of Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw
I always vote, but won't tell you who I voted for
On the weekends I spend a lot of time working on my yard and with my family
I worked at Disneyland for 10 years
I prefer dogs over cats, and I have two dogs - Pecan and Bear
I don't drink alcohol, but love Dr. Pepper Zero
I'm 5 foot tall, and when people "tease" me about it I remind them that it's great except for when they don't wear deodorant (hint - wear deodorant!)
Mickey Mouse and I share a birthday
I love cooking and make awesome cheesecake from scratch
I don't have a favorite color, but I like "fall" colors the best (pumpkin, sage green, burgandy, etc.)
I love exploring new places, and recently traveled to Italy, Switzerland, Germany, England, and France
I'm allergic to lavender - it makes me itchy!
I love teaching students to read, and believe they can all be successful
My "True Colors" personality types in order: Green, Blue, Yellow, Orange
I read almost every day
I'm a picky eater (I don't eat seafood, mustard, mayonnaise or many dairy items)
My favorite artist is Jane Wooster Scott
My bad habit - I love sugar!
I love spending time with my students and have been called "mom" several times
