Christian Clow is a passionate music educator, recognized for his commitment to fostering musical talent and his diverse experiences in the field of music. He earned his Bachelor of Music Education in Voice, with an All-Level Teachers Certification, from Texas State University, graduating summa cum laude. During his time at the university, he studied under esteemed faculty, received numerous accolades, and actively participated in various musical organizations.
Throughout his educational journey, Christian served as the Fraternal Education Officer for Phi Mu Alpha. He also contributed as a student conductor for the Texas State Men’s Choir and interned with the Austin Children’s Choir, showcasing his leadership in music education. His performance highlights included collaborating with the Grammy Award-winning conductor Dr. Craig Hella Johnson in Brahms' Requiem and participating in the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) performance with the Texas State University Chorale.
Christian's career as a music educator began as the Head Choir Director at Copperas Cove Junior High School, where he was recognized as the Rookie Teacher of the Year. He served as the Assistant Choir Director at Glenn High School, where he organized numerous musical performances and taught music theory courses. Currently, he is the Head Choir Director at Leander High School, where he continues to inspire and develop young talent.

Francis José Nieves is a vivacious composer, conductor, and pedagogue known for his diverse artistic interests and his leadership in the fine arts. Born and raised in Fort Hood, Texas, Francis holds a Master of Music degree in Choral Conducting, studying under world-renowned choral director and Grammy Award winner Dr. Craig Hella Johnson. Additionally, he holds his Bachelor of Music degree in Music Studies from Texas State University, studying under Brigette Bellini and Dr. Richard Novak.
In his graduate scholarship, he conducted every major choral ensemble in the university, including the Conspirare Youth Chorus of Austin, Texas. Francis was the founding producer of the first and only Texas State University School of Music choral podcast “TXST Choirs Today!” where guest composers and artists share their innovations in the choral world. Guests include recent Grammy Award nominee Jake Runestad, Stacy V. Gibbs, Craig Hella Johnson, Ralph Allwood, and many more — available on iTunes and Spotify!
Francis has served as Private Lesson Instructor for Voice/Keyboard/Songwriting at the School of Rock SW Austin location, Choir Director, Piano Instructor, and Music Director for the musicals at Akins Early College High School, and as Assistant Director and Choir Scholar for the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Austin, Texas, where he performed in 2016 as a soloist in their tour through Germany and the Czech Republic, performing and recording Russell Schulz's “Requiem”.
Francis is a Character/Leggero tenor who specializes in early music, opera, and sacred music. His most recent performances include the 2023-2024 season for Austin Opera: Pagliacci, Cruzar La Cara de la Luna, and Carmen and Terremoto! with Austin Baroque Orchestra. His performance credits include conducting Benjamin Britten’s Rejoice in the Lamb with the Texas State University Singers, Mollicone’s “Lady Bird: The First Lady of the Land” in the role of LBJ's Advisor for the opera’s world premiere, as well as Don Curzio in Mozart’s “Le Nozze di Figaro”, and Buoso’s dead body in Puccini’s “Gianni Schicchi”, and in the chorus of “HMS Pinafore” by Gilbert and Sullivan. Francis was featured as a soloist in the 2018 Texas Music Educators Association Conference with the Texas State Chorale in “Considering Matthew Shepard” under the direction of Dr. Craig Hella Johnson.
Francis Nieves currently holds a position in the chorus of Austin Opera and has performed with various ensembles:
Austin Baroque Orchestra,Texas State Opera, Texas State Chorale, Texas State Men’s Chorus, University Singers, Aurora Voce, Conspirare Symphonic Chorus, Voces Del Mar, Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, and St. Mary’s Cathedral.
