Teacher Bio. Brief
I teach Government, and AP Government here at Cedar Park High School. I also chair the Social Studies Department. A Texas native, I was raised in the small town of Sweeny, located about sixty miles southwest of Houston along the Gulf Coast. I am an alumna of Mount Holyoke College and also have studied overseas in both Spain and Germany. Later, I lived in Washington, DC, for many years where I worked in Congressional politics and communications in the U.S. House of Representatives. After moving into the realm of education, I taught in New York City and on Cape Cod in Massachusetts. I am thrilled to be back “home” in the Lone Star State and am especially glad to be here at Cedar Park High School. When I’m not at school, I enjoy music, swimming, dancing, movies, reading, travel, cooking, and spending time with my husband, Jim Whiteaker, and my two sons, Rupert, age 12 who attends the dual language program at Stacey K. Danielson Middle School, and William, age 14 who attends CPHS!
Office Hours/Tutorial Times:
