Meet Our Assistant Principal

Jose Maes

José Maes was formally the administrator for the Behavioral Intervention Classroom Program (BICS) at Loma Heights Elementary. He has also been a bilingual educational diagnostician for over 11 years and has serviced students from all parts of the state. Mr. Maes has been heavily involved with research, assessment and services for students with Dyslexia. Mr. Maes has a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, a Master’s degree in Special Education and Educational Diagnostics, and also a degree in Educational Leadership. Mr. Maes’ research interests include literacy development in young children, special and early childhood education, behavioral interventions, and assessment and implementation of intervention programs for students at risk for academic failure. Mr. Maes is one of eight administrators in LCPS implementing Restorative Practices in his program. Mr. Maes is married to Rosalie Maes and they have two daughters Brooklynn, who is in Middle School, and Jazlynn who is in Elementary School. Mr. Maes loves to Team rope, Golf, and Coach Basketball/Football. “I am very honored and excited to be part of this wonderful family at Central Elementary. I look forward to supporting our teachers, parents, and children.”
