Greetings, and welcome to my website. Thanks for allowing me this chance to share with you a little about myself. In addition, I hope you'll find my website useful throughout the semester as it contains useful links to online resources, class descriptions/expectations, and a link the the LCHS Yearbook Staff website.
I began teaching at LCHS in December of 2003 as Ms. Hallmark, teaching ninth grade English. Prior to my position here in Louisa County, I worked as the Director of Admissions at my alma mater, Virginia Intermont College, in Bristol, Virginia. At the inception of my college career, I was an Equine Studies major. Approximately a year into that program, I reevaluated my direction and became an English major with a minor in secondary education.
This is my eleventh year teaching juniors and my nineteenth year advising the Reflector yearbook staff. In April 2014, the fantastic Steve Wildman and I got married on St. John in the US Virgin Islands, though I still occasionally slip and introduce myself as Ms. Hallmark.
I am so pleased to be a part of the Lion Nation and look forward to meeting new high school students yearly as I help them gain knowledge in the areas of literature and writing as well as the communication skills needed to succeed in college and in life. In addition to teaching Honors English 11, I sometimes teach a section of Honors English 9, and I've advised the Reflector yearbook staff for 18 years. For more information about the high school yearbook, visit the LCHS Reflector page link at the top of this page.
