The following information can be considered for discussion in the screening process meetings:
+ Results of assessments from Spring of previous year and Fall results indicating a significant above-grade level performance
+ Naglieri Nonverbal Ability Test (NNAT) results (given in the Spring to all 1st graders)
+ SOL testing scores in the passed-advanced level
+ Work samples that indicate advanced potential
+ Slocumb-Payne Teacher Perception Inventory
+ Benchmark test scores
+ Writing samples
+ Identifying Students with Language Talents Checklist (Sousa, 2009)
+ Identifying the Mathematically Gifted Checklist (Sousa, 2009)
+ Any other pertinent information as deemed appropriate by the committee
Based on the committee discussions, students who exhibit at least 3 strong indicators will be considered as potential candidates for a gifted referral to full evaluation.
