This Desmos animation shows how the average velocities of a ball over a shrinking interval in time approach the instantaneous velocity of the ball at a specific moment. Another way to say it is that it shows how the slope of secant lines converge to the slope of a tangent line. The example comes from Section 1.1 of our text.
