Scope and Sequence

Each scholar’s inquisitive mind makes them a scientist, mathematician, and engineer. Science is a natural process of observing phenomena, wondering how the world works, and searching for answers in order to make sense of the world. Engineering is a practical way for scholars to explore their ideas and turn concepts into products through trial and error. Because science and engineering are ways of understanding and shaping the world around us, LJA scholars engage in many hands-on explorations, inquiries and projects as they explore our natural world

Throughout the four year STEM Learning Journey, scholars will participate in a fluid journey that focuses on both Science and Engineering processes. Each semester will provide opportunities to overcome and solve new and exciting challenges. Check out LJA's two year looping 5/6 Scope and Sequence for specific concepts taught during semester long units. Throughout the four units within LJA's curriculum, scholars we also become fluent in several science and engineering processes.

Science and Engineering emphasize on the ability to communicate with others as well as analyze data effectively. LJA has defined Cross-Content Standards that all scholars will become proficient in as a successful young people in today's STEM field.
