Fundraisers

2018

In 2018 we chose to collect pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald House, exceeding our goal of filling a large water cooler bottle. To encourage participation, we held an assembly with the following events:

• • Eating Contest on Upper Gym Stage: Ms. Sisson, Mr. Dary, Mr. Gischia and Mr. Carroll.

  • Rap Battle against a student or group of students: Mr. Quinn

  • Running of the Pacer Test: Mr. Vogel, Ms. Denzin, Mr. Murray, Mr. Navarro, Mr. Walden

  • Mr. Murphy emceeing the event.

  • Ice Cream during advisory the next day donated by Pizza Pit.

2017

The Interact Club of Lake Mills has been working on a food bank, The Mill, run by students for students. In order to get the food bank off the ground, the club has been writing grants and visiting local groups asking for donations. To-date the club has raised $1,000 in grants and secured a refrigerator. Bringing the fundraiser to LMHS, the students asked teachers to participate in the fundraiser, raising $500. The surpassed their $500 goal, earning more than $700 and enjoyed an assembly where they saw:

• • Mr. Hermann, Mr. Dary, Ms. Morris, Ms. Sisson and Ms. Vanderheiden in costume.

  • Ms. Haviland, Ms. Denzin, Ms. Mitchell, Ms. Schmidt, and Mr. Larson dye their hair.

  • Ms. Heimstreet and Mr. Carroll sing a duet.

  • Mr. Whaylen and Mr. O'Brien do a dance off.

  • Mr. Patton and Mr. Navarro play badminton.

  • Mr. Hicklin and Mr. Vogel play 1 on 1 basketball.
