Here is where I will outline what I am working on throughout my internship. I will provide links and images to demonstrate what I will be up to this year while working with A Kid's Guide to Canada

"What will I be doing?" you may ask...

The basic outline of my tasks will be in regards to the Special Activities that are new every week on the website. Each month the committee comes together to develop new ideas (or ways to recycle old ones) for students to do in their classrooms across the country. Once the students have completed the activity we encourage them to share the results on the map, or with the correlating hashtags

Here is what I will be doing...

Creating posters for each activity,
Promoting the activities through the AKGTC social media pages, and
Creating new webpages for the weekly activities.

I will post my creations here as well to further promote what this amazing organization is doing for students across the country!

October Special Activities

1. What do you harvest in your community?

This Special Activity is a photo challenge! Students are asked to submit photos of what they consider "harvest." They are encouraged to get creative with their photgraphy, and to get out and explore their communities.

2. I BUILD UP

This Special Activity is a class activity. Students will write positive words and phrases on bricks/blocks and build them into structures.

3. #FNMIKidsMatter

This Special Activity is collaborative. AKGTC is hoping to send sprout seeds up North to welcome those communities into this organization. Before they send the packages, AKGTC hopes to have students across the country make cards to go along with the packages of sprouts.

4. Kids Meet... Labrador

This activity is actually a webcast for students to join. The purpose is for students to learn about Labrador from a citizen, rather than a textbook. Students are encouraged to listen and participate during the webcast.
