Hockey Positions:
Center: The Center quarterbacks their team at both the offensive and defensive ends of the game. They should be smart, good at face-offs and a good passer. A player who also possesses a good shot and a creative game can excel at this position.
Left Wing and Right Wing: These offensive players are a team's scorers who can attack the goal from the sides of the net. They stay mostly on their side of the ice and must be able to fall back and help out on defense as well as be ready to break out for a quick shot on goal. These players must be tough enough to dig the puck/ball out of the corners and battle in front of the net.
Defensemen: There are 2 of these players playing at a time for each team who must be tough enough to battle in front of the net and protect their team's defensive zone. These players should be good passers to clear their zone and be able to push up on offense to contribute at that end of the game as well. Usually these player are either Left or Right Defensemen and stick to their side of the defense.
Goalie: This is perhaps the toughest positions in all of sports, the Goalie is one player who can control an entire team's confidence. Their job is direct the defense and keep the puck/ball out of the net. Good Goalies win championships.
