Special Event Volunteer Opportunities for 2023-2024

BOOK FAIRS: Magee hosts two book fairs: one in Fall and one in Spring. The Book Fair provides students and parents with an opportunity to shop for new books while raising money to expand the school and classroom libraries. Volunteers needed to set-up book fair materials, run basic cash registers, and organize books and materials.
Approx. Time: 1-5 hours throughout the week of the book fair
COLECTIVO COFFEE: Fundraiser will take place one time this school year, date TBD. Volunteers needed to help set up online/printed Coffee order forms, organize coffee orders, sort coffee orders, and distribute.
VIP NIGHT: Students love to show off their school to their special guests like grandparents, aunts, uncles or family friends. While visiting Magee, our VIPs can tour classrooms, enjoy a light meal and treats in the Depot and browse selections at the Fall Book Fair. Volunteers are needed to help set up, serve a light meal, and clean-up after the event. Approx. Time: 1-3 hours on the evening of the event
SCRIP HOLIDAY GIFT GIVING PROGRAM: Provide a paper and/or digital order form at scheduled time to run a week in December, promote program, balance payment to orders, order and distribute cards.
MOVIE NIGHTS: Magee Community and families come together in the Gymnasium to view a special Movie. Concessions. As well as help set up, serve concessions, and clean up the day of the event.
Approx. Time: 1-3 hours on the evening of the event
BAKE SALE: Volunteers are needed to help chair this committee, sign ups for help preparing baked goods as well as set up and clean up after the event. Date TBD

COLOR RUN: Magee Community participates in a Color run/walk 1k or 5k right in Magee’s Outdoor Campus. Volunteers needed to help organize the event, seek out local businesses to partner for t-shirt Sponsorships. Help with water stations and Color stations throughout the course on the day of the event.

Perpetual Event Committees for 2022-2023
Effortless Fundraising: Help with the Scrip and Kwik Trip Program. These fundraising efforts help support the Magee PTO and its mission to enhance educational opportunities for Magee’s students.
Popcorn Day Team: A Magee tradition that students love! Duties include: making and bagging popcorn, distributing popcorn to classrooms. Approx. Time: 2.5 hours once a month on Fridays
Sunshine Team: Show our staff and guests how much we appreciate them! Provide monthly treats and hospitality for teachers and special guests. Included are: Conference days, Fine Arts Day, Science Day, and Teacher Appreciation week. Duties also include set-up and cleanup for those who are able.
