My name is Lana Engel and I teach Pre-K here at KES.  This is my 30th year to be an Elementary School teacher.  I have taught Kindergarten for six years and Pre-K for 23 years.  This will be my 25th year here at Kerens ISD.  I grew up in Kerens and graduated from Kerens High School in 1992.  I know what a wonderful place Kerens ISD is and I am so happy to be a part of it. I graduated from Tarleton State University in May of 1996 with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with an Early Childhood Endorsement.  I am also certified in ESL and Special Education. 

 I am married to Jayson Engel who is a now the Transportation Director for Kerens ISD as well as wearing many other hats for our wonderful district. Jayson is also a Kerens High School Graduate.  We are Bobcats through and through!   We have a son, Tate, who is 24 years old.  Tate graduated with his Masters Degree from Baylor University and is now working in Waco.  Tate will be getting married in December and we are so excited to be adding Brooke to our family.   We also have a daughter, Ella, who is 19 and will be a Sophomore at Baylor University this Fall. They are the light of our lives!  We also have two precious dogs, Lola and Sadie, who are like family to us also!   I am excited about this year at Kerens Elementary!  It's going to be a great year!
