Ike’s biggest program for 2024!  The SSS program is beginning to take shape!

The Saturday Stream Snapshot (SSS) is an ongoing citizen scientist-based volunteer monitoring program that monitors water quality in the Lower Little Miami Watershed.  It has three main objectives:

·         To collect baseline water quality information using citizen scientist volunteers

·         To educate local residents about water quality issues in their local tributaries and provide opportunities for citizens individually or as a community to implement best management practices to preserve, protect and improve water quality in the Lower Little Miami Watershed

·         To identify water quality problems and share this information with responsible parties who can address the issues.

We need your help!  We need volunteers, members, and non-members, to help with the program to make it an ongoing success.  Volunteer areas include:

·         Water sampling (training provided) along the lower Little Miami River and lab analysts (training provided)

·         Educating local families and residents about the water quality issues and best practices

·         Sharing the data to affect change over time.  You can put in as little or as much as you would like.  As protectors of the soil, air and water, if you would like to help or know others who would be interested, please get in touch with Volunteer@SaturdayStreamSnapshot.org
