Ike’s biggest program - Saturday Stream Snapshot - is up and running to help protect the Little Miami River!
The Saturday Stream Snapshot (SSS) is an all volunteer citizen science program that monitors water quality in the Lower Little Miami Watershed. It has three main objectives:
To collect baseline water quality information including nutrients, bacteria and other water pollution indicators
To educate residents about water quality issues in their local tributaries and provide opportunities for citizens - individually or as a community - to implement best management practices to preserve and protect our waters
To identify water quality problems and share this information with responsible parties who can address the issues.
We need your help! We need volunteers - members and non-members - to help us help the Little Miami.
Monthly stream samplers and lab analysts (training provided)
Help us educate local residents about water quality issues and best practices - on our website, with social media, or at Ike's events
Help us share the data with municipalities and our partner organizations.. to affect change over time.
You can put in as little or as much as you would like. As protectors of the soil, air and water, if you'd like to volunteer - or know others who would be interested:
