Journals will be assigned periodically throughout the year. The prompt is up to you!
There are two guidelines:
1. Your journal must relate to one of the CURRENT targets in our math class
2. Your journal must be presentable. EARN the score!
Some suggestions for what you may do for your journal:
- Write a letter to me. What topic is difficult for you? What is easy? Is anything in class troubling you? Is there anything important in your life that you feel I should know about because it's affecting your work? Do you have any thoughts on math you'd like to share? (Example Letter with name protected)
- Draw and color a picture
- Make an iMovie or YouTube video
- Write a poem
- Create some acronyms or memory tips for our material
- Research anything we are learning and summarize your findings
- Create a comic strip
- Build a model
- Create a review activity or game that you could use to study
- Make a collage
- Put together a poster display
- Any combination of the above or any other idea you have!
If you come up with a particularly elaborate idea and you want to work with a friend, ask me about it and there is a possibility that I will let you submit your journal as a partner project.
