About Me

My name is Kay Dahl Hobart. I was born and raised on a farm near Hull in Northwest Iowa. I graduated from Boyden-Hull Community School in 1985 and headed for South Dakota. I attended South Dakota State University and received my Bachelor of Science degree in Child Development/Early Childhood Education in 1989. I then transferred to the University of South Dakota and received my Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education in 1990. I completed my Masters of Education from the University of Missouri-Columbia in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on Literacy in 2006 and Library Media Specialist certification in 2008 from Indiana State University.

I have worked as a Mother's Helper in Connecticut, just outside of New York City, and for motels and campgrounds. I was a Title I Aide and a Title I Coordinator/Teacher. I have also worked in a college library (SDSU) and public library (Vermillion). I have been at Tri-Valley as the Library Media Specialist since 2004. I have two daughters, Haley and Elizabeth, and husband Franklin. I enjoy working with the students and staff at Tri-Valley.

In our spare time, we enjoy cooking, gardening, genealogy, reading, and traveling. Frank collects vintage farm machinery.
