http://www.apens.org/: Adapted Physical Education National Standards website. This is a website that PE educators need to be familiar with especially if going into adapted PE specifically. This website has the standards for adapted PE as well as other information pertaining to what Adapted PE is. This is a great site to look over.

There is also a great reference to standards for each state-- go to "state pe standards." This is a great site to explore and to see all of the neat things they have within the site.
http://www.pecentral.org/: Another good website which has great resources for pe teachers and aspiring physical educators. There are many good lesson plan examples on the site. You can go to the tab on the top which says "lessons" to find the lesson plans. There are also assessment ideas within the "assessment" tab at the top.
