At Stott, as in many Jeffco Public Schools, we use the following assessments to monitor student learning and growth, and to monitor our effectiveness as a school:
NWEA MAP (Measure of Academic Progress) - given 3 times a year, this assessment gives students a RIT (standard measure) score as well as a growth percentile that show the progress they are making compared to their peers.
Acadience DIBELS (Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills) - given 3 times a year to students in grades K-3, this is a one-on-one screening assessment that alerts us to any possible gaps students may have in their literacy development.
CMAS (Colorado Measure of Academic Standards) - given each spring to students in grades 3-5, this assessment measures students' acquisition of the skills in the state standards. This assessment is also used to measure our effectiveness as a school.
Benchmark Assessment System - this is a one on one reading assessment that we can give to students in grades K-5 that helps us gather data on our students as readers. This is a way for us to determine a student's reading level.
