Dear First Grade Families,
Welcome to my First Grade classroom! I am excited to get to know your child and to help them along their educational journey.
I have been a parent for 34 years and a teacher for 28 years. I realize that your job as a parent is not an easy one. No one knows your child better than you and we must work together to give your child their best First start. Together we will lay the foundation for a lifetime of learning for your little one.
I earned both of my degrees from UNC in Greeley. I have my BA degree in Elementary Education and my Masters Degree in Special Education. Each year, I continue my learning through reading and advanced courses in education. I began my teaching career in Connecticut where I taught first grade for 4 years. After being home with my children for 9 years, I earned my Master’s degree in Special Education. I was the Special Education Teacher at Red Rocks for 6 years. I am beginning my 19th year back in the First Grade classroom and I love it! When I am not working, I love to read, hike, garden, and spend time with my family and friends.
My husband Kevin, and I live in Conifer. We have two children, Megan and John. Both kids are alumni of Red Rocks Elementary! Megan and her husband, Anthony, and their 3 year old daughter, Vivianne, just moved back to Colorado in June. Needless to say, Grannie and Pops are thrilled! Anthony works in health care and Megan is a first year OB-GYN resident at UC Health, in Aurora. John and his wife Alli live in Highlands Ranch with their 2 year old son, Jackson. John is in the oil and gas industry and Alli is a Nurse Practitioner.
The years have flown by quickly for Kevin and me. Our kids are grown and have left the nest, but it is so rewarding and fun to see them as young adults with their own families. Enjoy your little ones….they grow up so fast!!
Here’s to a great year!
