   My name is Madelyn DeMaio and I have the pleasure of being your child’s 1st Grade  teacher this year. I am so excited to take on the role of both learner and educator as I soak in as much knowledge as possible from our first grade team, GG staff, and your kiddos! I'd love to tell you all a little bit about me!

I am a Colorado native and have lived in Littleton my whole life. I attended Jeffco schools growing up, starting at Dennison Elementary, and then graduating from D’Evelyn High School in 2017. I then attended Red Rocks Community College for two years, and then transferred to MSU Denver in the fall of 2019, where I officially graduated from in May of 2022 with my bachelor's in Elementary Education with an emphasis on psychology. Two years ago, I had the pleasure of student teaching at Green Gables as Mrs. Hayes' resident.

I am an animal lover! I have a golden retriever named Betsy, a tuxedo cat named Oreo, and a Leopard Appaloosa horse named Oakley. Any time I get to spend with my animals is the best time, however one of my favorite things to do is go trail riding with my horse.  I also enjoy curling up with a good book and a cup of chai tea (Mrs. Hayes and I have that in common!). I love to participate in a number of different types of art as well including painting, photography and embroidery. 

I am beyond excited to spend this year with your students. Thank you for giving me the chance to learn from them, and with them, as we both navigate this first grade year together!
