*If you are absent, you are responsible for finding out what was covered in class, completing any missed classwork, updating your notes, and completing any missed Check Your Understanding work. Please make sure to check Google Classroom and check in with your peers.
***End of Unit Assessment Corrections must be submitted by the due date. Late work will receive partial credit.
***Quiz Retakes must be completed within one week of receiving the graded quiz. You must schedule a time with me to complete the retake.
Math Class Policies
Supplies - Bring Chromebook, Record & Practice Journal (RPJ) pages, and the following supplies with you each day:
Calculator
Math Spiral
Loose Leaf Paper
Whiteboard
Pencil Bag with all supplies needed for classwork
Grading Pen
Earbuds
Math Grading - Grades are computed with the following breakdown:
Homework - 10%
Class Work - 20%
Quizzes - 30%
End of Unit Assessments - 40%
M - Missing, this means an assignment was not handed in and no credit was earned.
Late Work - If an assignment is not completed on time:
Turn in work up to 2 days late for a partial grade of 80% of total score.
Turn in work more than 2 days late and up to the end of unit deadline for a partial grade of 50% of total score.
Any work not turned in by the end of unit deadline will be recorded as Missing in the grade book and the score will be calculated as a 0.
A paper turned in with no name will be considered turned in late.
If a Big Ideas Online assignment is submitted late, you must take a screen shot of your score and email the screen shot to Mrs. Marino. Your screenshot must include your name, title of assignment, and the score you earned. The date on the email will be the date used to determine late assignment score. Be sure to be very specific in the email about what assignment the screen shot is for and what Block you have math class.
Absences - After you are absent, you need to check with me and/or with another student to find out what you missed in class. Students are responsible for finding missed assignments. You have two days for each day absent to turn work in for full credit.
Test Corrections - Students will have an opportunity to improve test scores lower than a 80% for partial credit on end of chapter/unit assessments only using the Test Error Analysis form.
Quiz Retakes - Students have an opportunity to retake mid-chapter quizzes with scores less than an 80%. You may earn a score up to 80% on a quiz retake. Retakes must be completed within one week of receiving the returned quiz. Please schedule the quiz retake date with Mrs. Marino.
Homework - "Homework" is typically an opportunity for students to finish in-class assignments and/or continue working on a Check Your Understanding (CYU) task. CYUs will offer an opportunity to practice the concept from class. CYU assignments will include answers and/or answer checks for students to check work. Students will also be given at least one graded homework assignment each week that will cover current and past concepts. Assignments will typically be found through the Assignment tab on Big Ideas online, or students will complete a portion of examples from their notes; additionally, it could also include video notes, Khan Academy, IXL, Desmos, review sheets, etc.
