attendance process & information (alameda & jeffco)
Members of the "Attendance Team" Will:
Talk with the student, teacher/s, and call home to get input from the student's parent/guardian.
Ask for parents/guardians to come in for a family meeting to discuss the attendance issue. When a student has accrued 31 unexcused period absences, a Student Success Plan (SSP) will be created with the student, parent/guardian, and--if possible--a Student Engagement Advocate from the Office of Student Engagement. If a SSP is created, all adults who work with the student will be informed, so they know what each participant's (student, school, etc.) responsibilities include.
All conversations, meetings, etc. will be noted in Admin Conf.
If students do not improve their attendance after being on an SSP for at least 2 weeks, a Student Referral for Central Assistance (Student Engagement Advocate) may be made (if it wasn't already) or a referral to Jeffco's Truancy Court (or Truancy Diversion Program) may be completed.
