Hello. My name is Jaime Brenner, and I am the Social Emotional Learning Specialist (SELS) at Alameda International Junior and Senior High School. This is my 7th year at Alameda, but my 18th year in Jeffco (prior to becoming a SELS I worked as a School Social Worker at both the elementary and high school level). Alameda is such a special school. It's an honor to be back working with the students and staff.

Here at Alameda I have a variety of different roles. First, I am the Coordinator of Sources of Strength (SOS). SOS is a youth suicide prevention program designed to harness the power of peer social networks to change unhealthy norms and culture, ultimately preventing suicide, bullying, and substance abuse. Second, I coach and support all Advisement teachers in teaching the SEL curriculum (Second Step and School-Connect), to students. Third, I work with students experiencing severe absenteeism and thus Jeffco's Student Engagement Office to help get them back in school.

When not at work I enjoy spending time with my family, running, cycling, cooking, camping, traveling, and more. Colorado is an amazing place to live, so I try to take advantage of its beauty and the outdoors as much as possible.

Please contact me if you have any questions about my work at Alameda, or if your child is experiencing social-emotional or behavioral issues that are negatively impacting them at school.

Best Regards,

Jaime Brenner, M.S.W.
