Hello.  My name is Jaime Brenner, and I am the Social Emotional Learning Specialist (SELS) at Alameda International Junior and Senior High School.  This is my 8th year at Alameda, but my 19th year in Jeffco (prior to becoming a SELS I worked as a School Social Worker at both the elementary and high school level).  Alameda is such a special school.  It's an honor to be back working with the students and staff.

This year at Alameda, I am teaching the SAILS (School Orientation) Class to all 7th and 8th grade students.  The purpose of this class is to teach all middle school students necessary life skills they need to be successful.  This includes social-emotional learning (SEL), executive functioning, digital literacy, conflict resolution and more.  I will also bring in guest facilitators from The Conflict Center and Denver Pet Partners to further students' learning in these areas.  Additionally, I will run small counseling groups to help students with anxiety and other issues that interfere with their ability to feel happy, make friends, perform successfully in school, etc.

When not at work I enjoy spending time with my family, running, cycling, cooking, camping, traveling, and more.  Colorado is an amazing place to live, so I try to take advantage of its beauty and the outdoors as much as possible.
