Lettering
Did you know that you can letter in theatre?
Just follow these easy steps listed below!
1.) In order to letter you must earn 20 thespian points with the Colorado State Thespian Website. Go to cothespians.com and click "Student Login" located in the top right corner. This should bring you to a new page where you can login. If you do not already have an account, you can make one by clicking "Register" on the right of the page.
2.) After you login/create an account, your profile will open up and there will be a column on the right titled "Actions" with many tabs below it. Select "Events" and from there you will be taken to page to track/enter your points.
3.) Near the top right corner of the page click the icon that looks like a piece of paper with a plus sign on it. From here fill out each individual show/conference you have been to or participated in with the Arvada West Theatre Company:
NOTE - the website will correctly calculate the points per role
"Producer" is Lindsey Welsh (for all highschool shows)
Enter the production title and date/conferences
Enter the role you played in cast, crew, or pit. If you participated in a conference (ThesCon/Jeffco Theatre Day) or watched a show name it "Attendee"
Lastly choose the position you played (there are two options at the bottom of the list)
One of them is "Participation in a Theatre Festival or Conference" (use this for IES at ThesCon or Jeffco Theatre Day)
The other is "Attending an Equity performance" (use this for any show you watched as an audience member)
The genre for shows is usually "Full Length" (unless it is a One Act of course)
Do NOT log each Performance! ONLY each Production! (For example, the Fall Play is one production, not 3 for each night)
4.) You SHOULD record/keep track of your points throughout the year because then if you have questions you can ask them BEFORE the deadline in May. At the end of the school year, Ms. Welsh will give out a deadline for turning in lettering points. Submit pictures of your points through the published Google Form.
Important Notes!
You CANNOT add any points from middle school UNTIL you've earned 20 points with the Arvada West Theatre Company
Every additional 20 points (general theater, ex: going to someone else show, participating in a summer camp) is a bar. If you would like to be inducted into the Arvada West Theatre Company Troupe, you can turn in at least 12 points, even if you don't letter.
