Parents and students may refer to the document below for details about how learning is supported during a school closure. This is a live document and will be frequently updated as we continue to modify and refine online learning practises and procedures.
Emphasis is on meeting the learning targets, not on a fixed amount of time on task, however, screen time is limited to 1 hour for Grade 1-3.
GRADES 1-3 - Google Meet with teachers
The Lower School is currently considering scheduling 5-15 minute daily live-video conferences for all Grade 1-3 Homebase classes. Based on this proposal, each class will be able to access their Google Meet via a Google Calendar.
To JOIN a class video conference:
Type in your class name, e.g.
G1E, G1L, G2J, G2P, G3J, G3L
GRADES 1-3 - ZOOM with teachers
Some Lower School classes have been using ZOOM Video Conferencing as an alternative to Google Meets. ZOOM provides a lot of features that cater to some of our distance learning needs.
To get ZOOM onto the school iPad, go to the AppStore, search for it, and download. As with all of our distance learning platforms, students can create their accounts using the SIGN-IN with GOOGLE option.
More information about ZOOM will be shared in the near future.
