Alternative Learning Program at Deer River High School
Deer River High School Alternative Learning Program honors that graduation is possible for all students. The mission of the ALP is to provide alternate pathways to graduation through classroom time with high quality instructors, independent study, and work experiences.
Philosophy Statements:
All students can graduate.
Resilient and supported students require individual pathways.
High quality instruction and education is possible in an alternative setting.
Positive connections are a part of academic success.
Students leave equipped and ready to enter the workforce and receive post-secondary training.
ALP students continue to access community and school resources such as counseling services, special education services, mental health services, truancy prevention services, transportation, and meal services so that they are able to engage in the educational process.
We recognize all students are a part of the DRHS community.
Learning to learn, learning to live, and creating futures are integral parts of positive students development.
