About Ms. Trudell
Ms. Trudell is the District Percussion Specialist and Marching Programs Director at Indian River.
At Indian River she teaches 6-12 percussion lessons, directs the Concert Band , and is the Director of all the Marching Programs. She hopes to guide music students to accomplish musical goals and supports other subjects through musical experiences.
Originally from North Syracuse, New York, she started playing percussion in 6th grade (just like our students at Indian River!) and has been a percussion performer for over 20 years. She is a classically trained percussionist and a marching percussion specialist. She has performed across all over North America and Europe.
Ms. Trudell holds degrees from Onondaga Community College (A.A.S. Music), The Crane School of Music (B.A. - Music Education K-12/Percussion Performance, M.A. - Music Education) and is currently working on a Masters degree in Arts Administration at the University of Kentucky. She has worked with marching programs in Central New York and Eastern Tennessee. She is the former tour director for the Boston Crusaders and currently serves NYSSMA as the Winter Conference On-Site Coordinator. She performers regularly with ONNY, Northern Symphonic Winds, and Central Winds in upstate New York.
Outside of teaching and performing, Ms. Trudell has four kitties at home she loves to spoil and talk about. She enjoys traveling, coffee, the Muppets, and spending time with her family.
