GENERAL INFORMATION:

CLASS OVERVIEW:

ELA focuses on comprehension and structure of informational, literary, and argumentative texts. We will also concentrate on speaking, listening, research, and critical reasoning skills. We will be reading a variety of text such as, novels, short stories, plays, essays, poems, and nonfiction pieces. Our writing pieces will center on style, structure, vocabulary, and writing mechanics. Discussions and oral presentations, as well as, research and reasoning tasks and the research process will enhance every thematic unit.
