Sushmita Banerjee
Sushmita Banerjee is an Assistant Professor teaching on an ad hoc basis in the Department of History. She specializes in history of medieval India and has taken her M.A. and M.Phil. from the University of Delhi, where she is presently pursuing her Ph.D.
She is interested in Persian literary sources and textual criticism; usage of memory and historical narratives in textual sources; Delhi sultanate and ruling elites; sufi silsilas from thirteenth to sixteenth century: doctrines and practices; intellectual history of medieval India; varied Readings of Islam and notions of piety in medieval India.
Sushmita Banerjee has presented research papers in international conferences and has also published articles in journals.
