Shalini Shah

Shalini Shah obtained her M.A., M.Phil. & Ph.D. from the University of Delhi, and started teaching in the Department of History at the Indraprastha College for Women in 1988. She taught here for more than two decades and joined the Department of History at the University of Delhi as Associate Professor in 2009.

Professor Shah has authored several books and articles including, Mahabharata: A Book of Quotes, Aryan Books International, Teaching History, Aakar Books, New Delhi, 2013 (with K.M. Shrimali et al.), The Making of Womanhood: Gender Relations in the Mahabharata, Second Revised Edition, Manohar, Delhi, 2012, Love, Eroticism and Female Sexuality in Classical Sanskrit Literature: Seventh-Thirteenth Centuries, Manohar, Delhi, 2009. She has translated into Hindi chapters in volumes I and II of Themes in Indian History, NCERT Class XII History Textbooks, 2007.
