Tullio Ricci

INTRO

Tullio Ricci is a volcanologist at the Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia (INGV, Italy), where he has worked since 2008. He has studied volcanoes across six continents, and his research is mainly focused on the multidisciplinary and multidimensional imaging of volcanic systems. His work integrates the characterisation of hydrothermal systems, volcanic structures, morphological changes, fluid circulation, degassing processes, gas hazard, explosive eruptive dynamics, and volcanic risk perception, with direct implications for volcano monitoring, hazard assessment, risk mitigation, and human health.

His publication record includes more than 100 scientific articles published in JCR-indexed journals, reflecting a broad collaborative network of over 600 colleagues. He is also a member of the INGVvulcani Working Group, contributing to clear, timely, and scientifically grounded communication on volcanoes, volcanic activity, and volcanic hazards.
