Fieldtrips and Special Events

We all want our children to grow to be responsible and successful citizens of our community. As adults, we know that a person has to work hard to get their paycheck. If you weren't getting paid for your work, would you still push yourself to do your best at your job? Why should your children? In an effort to help our students understand that hard work pays off, Kids CREW uses field trips and special events as incentives for academic accomplishments, regular attendance, and positive behavior choices.

Each nine weeks, Kids CREW will plan either a special event or a field trip for students that meet the requirements given. We are striving for 100% participation eligibility. Parents will be notified of all events and trips prior to the date through flyers sent home, flyers posted on the Kids CREW Information Board, or information posted on this website or the Kids CREW Facebook page.

Kids CREW also works with community partners to provide more frequent off-campus field trips. Students rotate through scheduled weeks of programming offered at the Independence Public Library and Medicalodges of Independence. Those off-campus visits will also be posted and flyers will be sent home to allow families to plan to not pick up students early on those days.
