5th Grade Guidance Class
What does it take to be a successful student? 5th graders focuses upon the qualities, characteristics and skills to be successful students as well as respectful and responsible citizens. Study skills, listening skills, anger management skills, friends and friendships, goal setting, plan development, time management, and career exploration are topics covered during their 5th grade year.
6th Grade Guidance Class
Conflict is a natural occurring part of life and a major theme for 6th grade Guidance Class. The focus on the class is to develop assertive problem solving skills. Students learn what respectful conflict resolution looks and sounds like. More importantly, the goal is for all students to be successful in and out of school to respond to conflicts respectfully. Topics included in Guidance Class include: conflict styles, anger management, problem solving, communication and interpersonal relationships.
