Step 2
Propose a Project Title for FYP
You have to propose a project title based on your FYP project types (System Development & Multimedia). The title has to be new and original. If you do not have any idea or what to develop for your FYP, you can refer to your potential supervisor for suggestions or from the available project titles for development. The department encourage students to find topic related to IIUM SDG (Sustainable Development Goals) as per below, and 5 principles of Maqasid Syariah (Protection to Religion, Life, Intellect, Linage and Property) . Please further discuss this with your potential supervisor.
Step 3
Validate the Proposed Project Title
You need to self-validate your project title by checking any similar project title that has been developed by previous students at existing project titles page. If there is similar project title found, you need to revise your project title or enhance the existing project titles with project versioning (e.g. Smart Aquarium 2.0).
Step 4
Prepare a Project Proposal & Attach your Graduation Audit
Based on your proposed project title, prepared a project proposal with the given template and include all the required contents. Make sure your details such as Name, Matric No, Email (gmail only), and Proposed Project Title are correctly spelled. Your details must follow IIUM Official record (check your i-ma'luum).
For a group project, only one project proposal is needed and make sure your group member details are included in the cover page (refer to the given template). You need to print both of your project proposal and graduation audit (check your i-ma'luum) before approaching any potential supervisor. Your project proposal must not exceed than six (6) pages.
You can get your graduation audit through i-ma'luum. Highlight the registered prerequisite courses for easy-viewing. Remember, NO PROJECT PROPOSAL, NO GRADUATION AUDIT, NO SUPERVISOR!
Step 5
Search for Available Supervisor
Before approaching your potential supervisor, check the available supervisors page for his or her availability (section full or available slot). Remember, your supervisor can only accept 4 students and it is based on first-come-first-served basis. No reservation is allowed.
Your supervisor will not be responsible for any incorrect information entered based on your printed project proposal.
Please be mindful during searching for available supervisor. This is NOT fishing like activity. Do inform the supervisor you've approached if you've secure your supervisor. DO NOT leave things hanging.
Step 6
Approval Email
You will receive a pre-approved email from your supervisor with a unique URL. Click on the URL, fill in your details and submit. If there is NO SUBMISSION WITHIN 48 HOURS (2 DAYS), your approval will consider INVALID and you need to approach another supervisor. Regardless whether you are working on a group project or not, you need to submit your details individually.
Once you have submitted your details through the given URL, you will receive an approval email from FYP coordinator. Keep the approval email for future reference.
