We will begin the year discussing and reviewing our summer reading book, Escape from Mr. Lemoncello's Library.  Students will read the following novels, Save Me a Seat, WoodSong, and The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe and.  We will be using Simple Solutions and Voyages for Grammar, Loyola Publishing's Vocabulary book.  Students will need to read at least 20 minutes a night and make an entry in their reading journal.  Students will complete a book report each trimester.  

During this school year students will:

Continue to develop their writing skills by utilizing the writing process (prewriting, writing, revision, editing, publishing)

Write in their journals several times a week – they will be asked to respond to a quote.  I want to give students an opportunity to develop and express their opinions.

Complete research projects using Chrome Books

Improve grammar skills through maintenance and using their writings as an example

Students will read selections from various genres
