Is my child missing the same class every week for a lesson?

Answer:

No, your child's lesson time rotates so that you miss the same class once every 6-7 weeks.

My child isn't practicing, what can I do?

Answer:

Encourage your child to practice for 10 minutes a day. After a week or so increase the time to 15 minutes per day. Learning to play an instrument can be frustrating if a child doesn't practice outside of school. Starting with a little bit of time each day will develop a habit that will hopefully motivate your child to practice more often without being asked.
