Project Time: This project is designed to be completed over two fifty minute sessions.
You will take four to five 20 minute sessions to complete this project.
This means that this is your project for the NEXT 4 WEEKS. Take your time.
Materials:
Pencils, watercolor paint, crayons, colored pencils, markers, paper, sharpie.

You will first draw in pencil and do not use oil pastels. Use paint if you have it otherwise, markers, crayons or colored pencils are perfectly fine to use too. If you have sharpie please outline once the project is complete.

You will be learning about the Amish and their barn raising. The Amish are a group of people who prefer simple lifestyles. They are usually farmers, and they do not use electricity or automobiles. The ancestors of the Amish came from Germany in the 18th century, and now most of the Amish live in Pennsylvania (Lancaster County) and Ohio, in the United States . They build massive barns and buildings without modern day technology which is very impressive. You will be drawing a barn and decorating it with farm animals, fences, you may even choose to add a tractor (even though the Amish do not use those it is alright because I want you to design your own farm)

- This project is designed to be completed over the next two weeks, Please spend 20 minutes on the project this week and 20 minutes on the barn next week.
- Please watch this impressive 3 minute video of a traditional Amish Barn raising, although the movie is only 3 minutes long, the actual barn raising took over 10 hours, look at all of the people helping each other. It takes many hands and a great effort.

- 1. Draw three squares.
- 2. Start the roof above the center square.
- 3. Finish the roof line with matching angles.
- 4. Add thickness to the roof line.
- 5. Extend the roof line to the side.
- 6. Finish the barn shape, start the silo behind .
- 7. Add windows and lines to the silo.
- 8. Finish with window and door details.
- 9. Add background, fences, animals then color, you can use crayons, markers, color pencils or even paint if you have it.
- Trace in sharpie if you have them if not no worries!
