Messages from the School Counselors :

April 15th, 2020

We hope you are taking some time for self-care this week in addition to catching up on any back-work you may have. We just wanted to remind you that we are available by email, phone and google meet!

  • We check our school voicemail daily (call (518) 686-7321 and then dial extension 1512 for Mrs. Baker or 1508 for Mrs. Victor). Just leave your name and number and a time that would be best for us to call you back!
  • We check our email (bakerk@hoosickfallscsd.org & victorl@hoosickfallscsd.org) throughout the school day Monday through Friday. It is completely okay if you email us in the evening; we will get back to you the following morning!
  • We have office hours from 9 am to 11 am Monday through Friday where we will be readily available. If you need to get in touch with us, just send Mrs. Baker or Mrs. Victor an email during that time and we will get back to you to set up the best way to talk.
  • We would love to meet with you on Google Meet so let us know if you are up for this and we can set something up!

We also wanted to let you know that there will be some expectations coming from school over the next few days so keep an eye out for that.

It is very important that you stay in contact with your teachers and also stay in touch with us. If anyone sends you an email, please respond!!!! This can be a quick "ok" or "I received this email." It does not necessarily need to be a long response - just letting us know you are receiving (and checking) emails is a great step to success!

Also, be sure that you have logged into any google classrooms that your teachers have set up - this is where you will see assignments and submit online work.

Responding to teacher/counselor emails are a great way to show us that you are taking the distance learning seriously and that you want to pass this year. It will be extremely hard for you to earn a passing grade if you do not submit work and communicate with your teachers... We are happy to help with any of that if you are having a hard time - just let us know!!

Be well!

~ Mrs. Baker & Mrs. Victor

March 19th, 2020

We wanted to let you know that we are available by email and phone if you need anything while we are not in school. This is certainly a new adventure for us all and you may be feeling a mix of emotions about it. If you would like to talk over the phone, please email Mrs. Victor (victorl@hoosickfallscsd.org) or Mrs. Baker (bakerk@hoosickfallscsd.org) the number that would work best for you, and a time that you will be available, and we will do our best to reach out to you then. Just as a heads-up, we will be making those calls to you from our cell phones, so the number will most likely come up as restricted. If you are feeling any uneasy emotions, we would love to help you through them so PLEASE, do not hesitate to contact us! We may also be able to help out with any schoolwork, scholarship, or college application questions you may have.
