Partner Survey Page
Working effectively with a partner is an important skill in the STEAM Lab. You will have the same partner for most of this class, so it is important that you work hard to make your partnership work. Some tips for working well with a partner are listed below:
Take time to have discussions about what you are learning.
Focus on listening to your partner more than you speak to him/her.
Take turns operating the computer, and focus on letting your partner get his/her hands on the equipment.
Expect to disagree with your partner sometimes.
When possible, divide up the work in front of you.
Discuss all possible solutions to a problem, not just one.
If there is a conflict with your partner, try to work it out.
Partners that run into conflicts might think that asking for a new partner is the easiest solution, but that’s not the best way to learn communication and collaboration skills. One of the most valuable skills you’ll develop in the STEAM Lab is the ability to work cooperatively with others. Employers place a great value on the ability of their employees to communicate and work well with people in and out of their company.
