What was life like for a Wampanoag child?
Wampanoag children so the same things children do like play with each other, go to school and help with chores. Wampanoag children had toys as well as cornhusk dolls and toys like hand-held games.
Wampanoag mothers carried their children in cradleboards on their backs. The cradleboard held a baby snugly in the upright position. The Wampanoag believed that this position would help a baby's back and legs grow strong and straight.
Cradle boards are used the same way a backpack is used by you to carry your books to school only it was lined with soft skin and big enough for a child and open at the top so they could breath.
