How does my child make an appointment with his/her Guidance Counselor?

. A student can tell one of their teachers if they would like to meet with the counselor and then the teacher will give that information to the counselor. A time will then be arranged. A parent can email or call the counselor to let them know their child would like an appointment.

· Students can receive a pass from their counselor on the morning of their visit if planned in advance. The student then shows this pass to the classroom teacher before he or she comes to the appointment.

· If there is a problem requiring our immediate attention, we will always do our best to address the situation promptly.

When do teachers offer extra help?

· Teachers have at least one day per week where they offer extra help for students.

When are progress reports and report cards mailed out?

Please refer to the school calendar for progress reports and report card mailings.

What if my child is having an academic issue in a particular class?

Always contact the teacher first. Then, if you have additional concerns, contact your son or daughter's guidance counselor.

What if my child is being teased or bullied?

Contact your child's guidance counselor. The counselor will then work with teachers and/or the Assistant principal to investigate the situation.

What if my child is having behavioral issues or I am concerned about a change in his or her mood?

Contact your child's guidance counselor and he or she will discuss options for addressing this and provide additional outside resources as necessary.

What if I would like to discuss a personal or family issue my child is dealing with?

Contact your child's guidance counselor. He or she will be able to discuss ways your child can be supported within the school environment.

How can I schedule a meeting with the team of teachers or individual teacher?

Please contact the team leader or teacher directly to arrange a meeting.
