Parent Teacher Conferences
Parent Teacher Conferences will be held on Sept 20 from 4:00 to 7:30. If you have no concerns with your child's progress in school so far, I encourage you to allow others to sign up first. If all the slots are not filled after a day or two, then sign up. Conference times usually fill up quickly, especially at the 6th grade level.
HMS PTO graciously provides the HMS staff with dinner prior to our conferences. A special thank you to Maureen Scally for organizing the dinners for us again this year. If you would like to donate items for the conference night dinner, click on this link.
School Pictures
School Pictures that were taken on August 16th were distributed to students this week. Retakes and pictures for anyone who did not have their picture taken on 8/16 will be on Sept 19 beginning first thing in the morning.
Picture forms can be picked up in the office or ordered online at www.mylifetouch.com using code : WP088006Y1
PowerSchool Log Ins

Middle School report cards are released to you through PowerSchool. We only send a printed report card home upon your request and at the end of the year.

PTO Meeting
Sept 12 at 9am in the HMS Media Center
Football Game Student Section
Highland Middle Schoolers are invited to be a part of the student section at home football games. Middle schoolers will take the area behind the high schoolers next to the band. Students who come to the game are expected to either be in the student section or in a seat in the stands. If a student is in the student section they are expected to stay in the stands until the end of each quarter. Students are not allowed to stand along the fence, loiter by the concession stand, or constantly go back and forth. Highland athletic events are school events, so school rules still apply to students. Each game the student section has a theme. Tonight's theme is "Neon." Mr. James and Mr. Henry are in the middle school section to assist students if needed.
Reducing Childhood Stress and Anxiety
Childhood stress and anxiety is an issue that affects many students in the middle school and high school years. Even if your child is happy and healthy right now, I encourage you to attend the presentation.
